Import Export Code (IEC) Registration in Jaipur
The Import Export Code, issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, is the basic registration for businesses that import or export goods. We handle the application and the related export compliance.
Who needs an IEC?
Any person importing or exporting goods needs an IEC, with limited exceptions. It is a single, PAN-based code, valid for the life of the business, but the details on the DGFT portal must be kept up to date as required by the rules. Service exporters generally do not need an IEC, though it is needed to claim certain benefits, and many buyers and payment platforms ask for it.
Documents and process
- PAN of the applicant (individual, firm or company).
- Aadhaar or identity proof, and address proof of the business.
- A cancelled cheque or a bank certificate for the current account.
The application is made online on the DGFT portal. The code is normally issued within a few working days. We file the application and the amendments.
Related export compliance
Exporters also need to decide on how to treat GST on exports, which are zero-rated: either by exporting under a Letter of Undertaking without paying IGST, or by paying IGST and claiming a refund. We assist with the LUT, shipping-bill and bank-realisation reconciliations, and GST refund claims. See GST return filing.
